Writer Submissions
At leafie we welcome submissions and contributions from voices outside of our core team. We publish articles, features, essays and guides exploring the world of cannabis and its intersection with modern life in the UK and beyond. We class ourselves as an online magazine aimed at potential and existing consumers of cannabis-based products who don’t fit into the tired definition of the stereotypical ‘stoner’.
Rather than catering for the dedicated cannabis fan, leafie’s mission is to demystify the world of CBD, cannabis and related products to people who want to know more about the plant. Instead, we focus on all aspects of societies relationship with cannabis from an unbiased perspective. We do not favour any particular side of cannabis culture or campaigning, instead, we hope to give a voice to everyone. To view our full contributor’s guidelines click here.
We’re keen to broaden our subject matter beyond the obvious. Specifically, we’re looking to hear from underrepresented voices within the cannabis community. We also welcome pitches for articles that look past direct cannabis subjects and focus on music, art, fashion, current affairs and issues and how they link, directly or indirectly, back to the interests of our readers and our core mission.
How to pitch
Before submitting your pitch, please familiarise yourself with our contributor’s guide and the tone of voice we use on our website. We encourage you to use our search function to ensure you are submitting a pitch that hasn’t been covered previously.
If you have an idea you would like to pitch to us, please email contributors@leafie.co.uk – and tell us a little bit more about you, your background and your idea. We prefer concepts and ideas to drafts to begin an initial conversation. Please also include links or examples of previous, relevant writing and your desired fee along with any other relevant information.
We’re a small team, but we will endeavour to respond to every relevant pitch where possible, providing the above guidelines are followed. We look forward to hearing your ideas.
