Product review – Pot Head Coffee

I love coffee. I take it seriously. Seriously enough to take a Bialetti Moka Pot on a camping holiday, just to ensure my day starts off with a cup of proper coffee, made with proper ground beans. Instant just won’t do, even if I am in a field, and I accept that makes me a bit of a coffee snob. So when Pot Head Coffee were kind enough to offer us some of their ground CBD coffee beans just ahead of a family camping trip, the answer was a hearty yes.

The science behind combining coffee and CBD is fairly solid, the calming effects of CBD balance perfectly against the stimulation caffeine provides. Anyone who’s been on a family camping trip will tell you relaxation isn’t necessarily high on the list of benefits, but a little boost to the endocannabinoid system along with some caffeine to shake off the slumber from the night before really does do the trick.

Benefits of regulating my stress levels while simultaneously clearing my hangover aside, Pot Head make some seriously tasty coffee. CBD coffee blends have popped up in their numbers over the past year, and we’ve tried quite a few. Not many brands have managed to strike the blend of infusion, dose and taste, but the bag I drank over the course of the holiday was delicious and smooth, not just by CBD coffee standards, but standing up alongside other well-known coffee blends.

Pot Head use Tanzanian Arabica coffee beans as their starting point, grown in the nutrient-rich volcanic soils of Mount Kilimanjaro. The beans are then infused with sub-critical CO2 extracted CBD, ensuring the coffee retains a spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes. Finally, the coffee is ground to order to retain freshness, ensuring each bag retains maximum flavour.

The result is a genuinely well-balanced cup of coffee containing 10mg of calming CBD. As you’d expect from any brand worthy of a good review, Pot Head have their products independently tested by a third-party laboratory for consistency, and to ensure the coffee contains all the cannabinoids it should. The result is an excellent cup of coffee for both self-confessed snobs like myself and those who just want a convenient way to consume CBD, so its no wonder their coffee gets a solid 5/5 in reviews from their loyal customers.

We enjoyed this coffee so much, we begged Pot Head for a couple more bags to give away to our readers. If you’d like the chance to win your very own bag of CBD infused coffee, head over to the post on our Instagram page and follow the instructions. Good luck!
