Following on from its recent study and report into the UK CBD industry, the Centre For Medical Cannabis is launching its own trade association, The Association for the Cannabinoid Industry.
The ACI has partnered with award-winning regulatory consultants GRS and aims to lead CBD industry regulation. Plans include creating a legal and safe, regulated industry in the UK through a framework of legal compliance and quality controls. Members will sign a Quality Charter, committing them to a legally compliant, socially responsible and innovative CBD industry in the UK.
The new industry body will officially launch at a CMC even on 8th November, after extensive consultation with members and key stakeholders. In the following months, the focus of the organisation will be on further building its resources to maintain the integrity of these new industry standards and to conduct the first round of audits of members to ensure they are collectively delivering on them.
Throughout this process the ACI will continue to consult and engage intelligently with policymakers, regulators and other relevant stakeholders to steer members through what is often a complex regulatory environment.
Interested companies can read the ACI charter in full and apply to be a founding partner via the ACI website: https://www.theaci.co.uk/
