Netflix has announced a new 4 part mini-series about the therapeutic benefits of psychedelic drugs. Based on the best-selling book How To Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan and directed by Academy Award winner Alex Gibney, the series will examine the new wave of research into the potential of four drugs; LSD, psilocybin, MDMA, and mescaline.
Each 50-minute episode will be presented by Pollan, author of the 2018 book of the same name, which explores the relationship between “consciousness, dying, addiction, depression, and transcendence”.
Pollan’s book received multiple positive reviews for its objective and insightful view into both the history of psychedelic research, and the potential of the ‘new wave’ of psychedelic therapy to alleviate various types of mental health issues. News of the documentary’s release was shared enthusiastically by members of the psychedelic community such as Paul Stamets and Robin Carhart-Harris.
