Launched in 2019, leafie is an online magazine focusing on the changing world of cannabis and psychedelics. We mix educational, topical and entertainment-focused content to meet the growing demand for information on these substances, as they shed their stigma and become tools for improved living.
We are on the lookout for a freelance journalist to become a regular contributor to our culture section. The right contributor will have a solid understanding of subjects where cannabis and psychedelics intersect with broader sub-cultures and issues in the United Kingdom.
Areas of interest we would like to explore include but are not limited to:
- Sports such as BMX, skateboarding and extreme sports
- Music, film, television and the wider arts
- Fashion
- Sexuality
- Health, well-being and complementary medicines
You should be comfortable writing in a variety of forms, from interview-based features to educational pieces and issue-based coverage, as the subject sees fit. We are seeking someone who can ideate and execute ideas independently, creating content that introduces new concepts to a curious audience.
While we work with writers from around the world, this specific role would be best suited to someone based in the UK at this moment in time, so we do not require applications from people outside of the country.
